You will teach informative illustration and knowledge communication across all specialisations within the Design degree programme.
You will teach the theoretical, methodological and practical foundations of the organisation, conception, design and implementation of illustrative projects within a knowledge context, in both face-to-face and online settings.
In the process, you will familiarise students with both professional drawing and illustration techniques, as well as artistically independent forms of expression through illustrative project work.
Drawing on a scientifically grounded understanding of truth, you will bring to life the full range of illustrative narrative formats, from traditional scientific illustration to animation, serial formats and comics.
By integrating multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary perspectives, and by collaborating with external partners from academia and the business world, you will continuously develop teaching and applied research in the field of illustration.
Last but not least, you will play an active role in academic self-government.
Your expertise is founded upon a university degree in the field of Design or Art.
You are able to demonstrate an outstanding illustrative practical portfolio of relevance. Although a doctorate is desirable, it is not a mandatory requirement for recruitment.
In addition to having several years of professional experience outside of academia, you have developed an outstanding track record in design.
Strong teaching skills round off your impressive personal profile – ideally, you will have some teaching experience at a range of higher education institutions.
You have an excellent command of English, as well as professional experience abroad. Good contacts to international universities and institutions are an added benefit.
A permanent W2 professorship on civil servant conditions**** will enable you to make a valuable contribution to teaching, research and university management.
Our family-friendly conditions will support you and enable you to achieve a good work-life balance.
Our extensive portfolio of professional teaching development will enable you to develop your skills on an ongoing basis.
You can look forward to an exciting challenge as part of our team, with dedicated colleagues to support you from the very beginning.
