WHAT TO EXPECT

In the bachelor’s programme, you will teach the “Fundamentals of Facility Management and Operations”, while in the master’s programme, you will teach content related to building operations planning, benchmarking and the life cycle management/costs of buildings.

You will also be involved in the development of the organisation of facility management and the teaching of innovative technologies that can positively complement the planning and construction process.

Your teaching will be complemented by participation in or independent implementation of life cycle management/cost research projects.

We are also counting on you to train students in the well-organised, service-oriented and value-preserving operation of buildings.

Addressing and following current market issues is on your agenda: smart buildings, intensity of use, certification of existing buildings, AI, building automation.

Last but not least, you will actively support us in our self-governance and supervise students in their final theses.

YOUR BACKGROUND

Your expertise is based on a successful degree in architecture, facility management or real estate management; a doctorate is desirable. The requirements for recruitment under Section 36 of the Higher Education Act of North Rhine-Westphalia (HSG NRW) apply.

Students will benefit from your experience in detailed life-cycle costing for major projects in the public and private sectors.

Your experience includes tendering for facility management services and project work in the following areas: digitalisation, IT systems, building operations processes.

You will also be familiar with life-cycle organisational requirements and the creation of operator models and operational concepts.

You will have extensive experience in evaluating and optimising building costs, particularly in the context of sustainability and usage costs.

We rely on your experience in teaching and professional development, including in English.

An extensive industry network and active involvement in professional real estate and facility management associations round out your profile.
