“Typography in 2D, 3D and 4D”
at Münster School of Design (MSD)
What to expect
In the Bachelor’s degree programme at the department of Design, you will support the subject area of Typography in the fields of illustration, product design, communication design and media design in an interdisciplinary manner.
In this context, you will teach methods and drafting techniques for the conceptual and creative design of typography in 2D, 3D and 4D at the interface between theory and practical application.
In doing so, you will get students excited about all forms of typography in a design context, especially in the application of type in motion and interaction. You will teach typography as a visual or narrative design tool in analogue or digital forms of representation, also using experimental approaches.
You will supervise students in their practical work in visualising text, creating text-image applications and image-design typography.
In addition, you will contribute actively and with commitment to university self-government.
You have a degree (Bachelor’s, Master’s or equivalent degree in Design) and several years of practice in the field of design, focusing on typography.
We expect you to have sound technical and design skills in the field of interactive or animated typography with links to design practice. You have extensive experience in established software solutions in the field of typography as well as in 3D and 4D.
You are passionate about creative processes that you develop through exploration and experimentation, and are able to translate these into application.
In addition, you have teaching skills and experience in university teaching.
Last but not least, you impress with a good command of English. Ideally, you have professional experience abroad.
